abstract The invention relates to a method and a device for detecting a sequence of abnormal events in an electrical signal, in particular the depolarization signal (IS) of a heart (9). The depolarization signal (IS) is compared in a detector circuit (2) with regard to a signal parameter with a defined threshold value, the maximum value of the signal parameter is measured for each event exceeding the threshold value by means of a peak value meter (3) and for a defined number by means of a computing circuit (7) The standard distribution of the measured maximum values is calculated from the last successive events that are compared with a defined target value by means of a comparator (8), a signal being generated in the event of deviations.
