titleOfInvention Anaerobic desulphurization process for crude oil and petroleum products
abstract The invention relates to a new mixed culture of obligative anaerobic microorganisms and facultative anaerobes which is isolated from industrial effluents and has been filed with the DSM under number 5307, and the use of this culture in the microbic desulphurization of crude oil, petroleum fractions and petroleum products. The use of the new culture in this process, which can be conducted either continuously or batchwise, results in a high degree of desulphurization of the substrate, with simultaneous controlled demolition of the high molecular weight structure.
