abstract |
There are disclosed avermectin derivatives of formula (I) in which the 3,4-double bond of the avermectins has been epoxidized. The compounds are prepared by oxidation of 7-O-trimethylsilyl-avermectins followed by deprotection. The compounds are active antiparasitic agents and insecticides and compositions for these uses are disclosed. wherein: nR 4˝ = OH, NH₂, NH-lower alkyl, NH-lower alkanoyl; nR₂₃ = H or OH and R₂₃ is present only when the broken line indicates a single bond; nR₂₅ = lower alkyl; nand the broken line indicates a single or double bond. |
