abstract |
A liquid crystal display devices comprises a liquid crystal cell (2) containing a nematic liquid crystal composition (6) disposed between a pair of electrode plates (3, 4) with a twist angle in the range of 180° to 360°, the electrode plates being spaced apart by between 2 µm and 5.5 µm. A pair of light polarising plates (8, 9) sandwich the liquid crystal cell. The liquid crystal composition (6) comprises between 5 and 40 weight percent of at least one compound with a terminal -CN radical and/or at least one compound with a terminal -F radical. |
