abstract The invention relates to new polysaccharides with immunostimulating and antiproliferative activity from plants of the genus Nerium oleander. One of the isolated polysaccharides consists of α (1 → 4) linked D-galacturonic acid units and has a molecular weight of 30,000 to 40,000 D. A low-molecular polysaccharide mixture with a molecular weight of approximately 3,000 to 12,000 D, which contains three sub-fractions of polysaccharides with different molecular weights and different compositions, was also isolated.
