A process for purifying blood plasma to reduce the amounts of odorous and colored substances according to the invention comprises conducting at least one of the treating processes of (1) treating the plasma with an acidic or basic substance to modify and remove hemoglobin, (2) treating it with active carbon under acidic conditions, (3) adding thereto a polyelectrolyte having carboxyl groups together with, if necessary, active carbon, and treating with an acid and (4) filtering through a ceramic filter. The blood plasma thus obtained is useful as an additive for food. |
