titleOfInvention Improved yeast strains for the production of mature heterologous proteins, in particular of hirudin
abstract The invention relates to an improved system for the production of mature heterologous proteins, and in particular of hirudin, by yeasts, comprising an expression vector containing a sequence coding for the heterologous protein. This improvement is characterised by the amplification of the yeast KEX2 gene coding for the yscF endoprotease. The amplification is carried out either by integration of one or more copies of all or part of the KEX2 gene in the genome of the yeast, or by insertion of one or more copies of all or part of the KEX2 gene in the vector for expression of the heterologous protein. <IMAGE>
