Plate-like composite Ba-containing ferrite fine particles for magnetic recording:n (i) contain Ni, Co and Ti in the molecular ratios: 0.02:1 ≦ Ni:Fe ≦ 0.10:1, 0.01:1 ≦ Co:Fe ≦ 0.10:1 and 0.01:1 ≦ Ti:Fe ≦ 0.10:1, but 0.03:1 ≦ (Ni + Co):Fe ≦ 0.14:1 and Ti:(Ni + Co) < 1:1; (ii) have zinc in the particle surface in the form of a solid solution; and (iii) exhibit a coercive force temperature dependence of -39.8 to +159 Am⁻¹/°C (-0.5 to +2.0 Oe/°C) in the temperature range of -20 to 120°C. |
