abstract | 1. Multifunctional coupler between a central computer unit (CPU) and the various peripheral organs of the latter (OPER₁, OPER₂), containing at least one application firmware (PMAS) controlling the transfer of information between the peripheral organ ( OPER₁) and the central unit comprising a motherboard (CMI₁) associated with at least one daughterboard (CFI₁, CFI₂), the motherboard (CMI₁) comprising first and second connection interfaces to the output bus (BUSI) from the central unit (CPU) and to the daughter board (INI₁, INI₂), and a control and command microprocessor (MIPI) disposed between the first and second interfaces, characterized in that the motherboard (CMI₁) comprises a random access memory (MVI) and a first read only memory (MPMI) connected to the microprocessor output bus (BUSMI) and the daughter card, a second read only memory (MPFI₁, MPFI₂ ), the application firmware (PMAS) comprising a first part (PMM) contained in the first read only memory (MPMI) of the motherboard (CMI₁), common for all the application firmware (PMAS) and a second part (PMF₁) contained in the second read only memory (MPFI₁) of the daughter card (CFI₁) specific to the application implemented by the peripheral member associated with the daughter card (OPER₁).n n n Applicable to computers. |
