Use, as a cosmetic composition or carrier for a cosmetic composition for the hair, of a non-foaming fluid composition containing a dispersion of wax in a liquid vehicle, the disperse phase of which is a stable microdispersion of particles less than 500 nm in size, these particles consisting essentially of a wax or mixture of waxes, this wax or mixture having a melting point terminating above 60 DEG C and below 100 DEG C and being capable of forming a microdispersion as defined above, the aforementioned composition containing, by weight, from 0.1 to 40 % of wax, from 0.01 to 25 % of at least one nonionic or anionic emulsifying agent and at least 35 % of water, it being possible for the wax/emulsifier weight ratio to vary from 1 to 30, and the aforementioned composition not containing a cationic surfactant; and process for cosmetic treatment of the hair using such compositions, in particular for improving the shape-retention and volume of the hairstyle and/or eliminating or delaying the onset of a greasy appearance of the hair. |
