titleOfInvention Method for automatic image matching
abstract One proceeds to the automatic registration of images representative of the same scene, but acquired under conditions such that the subject has moved, by automatically selecting a homogeneous population of landmarks and by calculating the displacement vectors associated with these landmarks. We show that to select the landmarks it is interesting to characterize the image by a certain number of characteristic quantities, representative of the robustness of these landmarks. The robustness of the landmarks is the ability of a landmark to be the place of an exact displacement measurement for a required precision.
