titleOfInvention | POLYAMIDE COMPOSITIONS WITH HIGH IMPACT RESISTANCE AT LOW TEMPERATURES. |
abstract | Polyamide composition retaining a high impact resistance at low temperatures composed of 0.5 to 95% by weight of at least one amine-terminated polyamide. This amine-terminated polyamide consists of 3 to 97 percent by volume of the polyamide acid molecules having amine groups at least as two end groups of the polyamide acid molecule. The composition also contains from 3 to 99.5% by weight of a polyamide of which at least 50 mol% of its extreme groups are acid groups or styled groups. The composition also has from 2 to 50%, preferably 15 to 30%, of the total weight of the polymer, of a reactive polymer. The reactive copolymer is based on a copolymer of ethylene and an alpha olefin having 3 to 8 carbon atoms. This copolymer is called "ethylene copolymer", the reactive copolymer comprises a reactive fraction, preferably grafted onto the ethylene copolymer, which is preferably an ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid or a derivative of this acid. There are on average at least two reaction groups per copolymer molecule. |
