The present invention relates to a substrate coated with a two-phase coating, obtainable by cathodic electrocoating of an electrically conductive substrate with a mixture comprising A) an aqueous cationic dispersion of a polymerization, polycondensation or polyaddition product B) an aqueous cationic dispersion of a polymerization, polycondensation or polyaddition product with a glass transition temperature of the polymer on which the dispersion is based between -80 and 20.degree.
