abstract There are new 3-aryl-pyrrolidine-2,4-dione derivatives of the general formula (I) in which X represents alkyl, halogen, alkoxy, Y represents hydrogen, alkyl, halogen, alkoxy, halogen alkyl, Z represents alkyl, halogen, alkoxy, n stands for a number from 0-3, R represents hydrogen or for the groups -CO-R¹, -CO-O-R² stands, where R¹ and R² have the meaning given in the application text, A represents alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkoxyalkyl, polyalkoxy alkyl, alkylthioalkyl optionally substituted by halogen atoms, cycloalkyl optionally interrupted by hetero atoms or arylalkyl optionally substituted by halogen, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, nitro, B, C * independently of one another represent hydrogen, alkyl or alkoxyalkyl, as well as the enantiomerically pure forms of compounds of the formula (I).n n n The new compounds are surprisingninsecticidal, acaricidal, herbicidal and antifungalnEffectiveness.
