| abstract |
A halogenated polyester composition having improved nimpact resistance, rigidity and flame retardancy is produced nby melt-kneading (A) 99 to 40 weight parts of a nhalogen-containing aromatic polyester and (B) 1 to 60 weight nparts of (B-1) a copolymer of an alpha-olefin and glycidyl nester of an unsaturated acid or (B-2) a graft copolymer of n(B-1) and a polymer of units of the formula (1): n n solidifying the molten mixture by cooling and for at least one nhour in an inert gas atmosphere or under a reduced pressure of nless than 1.33 kPa (10 torr) and at a temperature greater than n120°C but not greater than the melting point of the mixture, nthereby to effect the solid phase reaction. |
