In another aspect, a method of nproducing ethylenediamines of the general formula (I), nwhich comprises reacting a reaction product containing an nazirieine compound of the general formula (II), obtained nby the gaseous phase intramolecular dehydration reaction nof an alkanolamine represented by the general formula nnH₂- nH-R (III) n nwherein X represents the OH group or the NH₂ ngroup, Y represents the NH₂ group when X is the nOH group and the OH group when X is the NH₂ ngroup, and R is as defined, nin the presence of a catalyst A, with ammonia in the ngaseous phase in the presence of a solid acid catalyst n(catalyst B). |
