| abstract |
A topical ointment for the local treatment of dermatoses, in particular psoriasis, contains 10 to 50 percent by weight of petroleum jelly, 10 to 50 percent by weight of jojoba oil, 1 to 10 percent by weight of cholesterol, 1 to 10 percent by weight of beeswax or walnut or walnut substitute and 10 to 40 percent by weight of water. The surprisingly good healing success when using an ointment of this composition is based primarily on the pharmaceutical effectiveness of cholesterol. The ointment according to the invention is also characterized by particularly good tolerance in patients with sensitive skin and skin prone to allergic reactions. |
