titleOfInvention Process for the manufacture of pigment preparations
abstract Process for the preparation of a pigment composition by Ia) a pigment is treated with a water-immiscible carrier medium before or during its synthesis and then the pigment synthesis is completed to form the pigment composition comprising the pigment and the carrier medium, and then the pigment composition obtained is isolated, or, if appropriate Ib) the pigment composition obtained is further treated with an aliphatic organic acid and optionally with a water-immiscible carrier medium, the pH of the resulting mixture is first adjusted to below 7.0 then above 7.0, so that the organic acid enters the aqueous phase is transferred, and the pigment composition containing the pigment and the carrier medium is isolated, or II) a suspension of a pigment completely synthesized by the customary process is treated with a water-immiscible carrier medium and an aliphatic organic acid in accordance with process step Ib) above.n n n The pigment compositions obtained have improved physical properties and economy.
