abstract A sphygmomanometer comprising, assembled in a unitary assembly, a bulb (12) for pressurizing a measurement cuff, a manometer (14) for actual reading of the blood pressure, a valve or valve (28) for setting the air of the cuff and control means for the progressive opening of said valve or valve for gradually reducing the pressure of the inflated cuff with a view to determining the systolic and diastolic pressures, on the one hand, and for maintaining the valve (28) in its fully open condition for complete and rapid venting of the cuff, on the other hand.n n n The control means are produced in the form of a button (17) mounted to slide and with which is associated a toothed pusher mechanism (51, 60, 65) organized in such a way that the blocking of said valve (28) in its full opening condition for rapid venting of the cuff is obtained automatically after a predetermined push-in stroke.
