titleOfInvention Catheter set for spinal anesthesia
abstract A spinal cannula (16) is inserted into an epidural cannula (10), which can be advanced to the dura, the end of which is placed intrathecally, the spinal cannula (16) penetrating the dura. A guide wire (21) is then inserted intrathecally through the spinal cannula (16). After removing the spinal cannula (16), a spinal catheter (23) is advanced over the guide wire (21) and inside the epidural cannula (10). The epidural cannula (10) gives the catheter (23) the necessary directional stability when advancing and facilitates the penetration of the dura already perforated by the spinal cannula (16).
