titleOfInvention FIRE-RESISTANT HIGH-TEMPERATURE-RESISTANT POLYIMIDE FIBERS AND MOLDED BODIES MADE THEREOF.
abstract Polyimide fibers hardly inflammable and resistant to high temperatures, nonwoven composed of these fibers, fibers and molded bodies obtained by heat treatment. These fibers develop after their heating up to a temperature between 280 ° and 350 ° C, higher than their glass transition temperature, a retraction force between 0.3 and 1.1 cN, a shrinkage of the fibers between 20 and 60% and form cohesive bonds. Molded bodies can be produced from these fibers which have particularly high rigidity, high temperature resistance and non-flammability with relatively low density.
