Polyimide fibers hardly inflammable and resistant to high temperatures, nonwoven composed of these fibers, fibers and molded bodies obtained by heat treatment. These fibers develop after their heating up to a temperature between 280 ° and 350 ° C, higher than their glass transition temperature, a retraction force between 0.3 and 1.1 cN, a shrinkage of the fibers between 20 and 60% and form cohesive bonds. Molded bodies can be produced from these fibers which have particularly high rigidity, high temperature resistance and non-flammability with relatively low density. |
