abstract | Thermoplastic molding compositions containing as essential components A) 10 to 90% by weight, based in each case on the sum of A and B, of a modified polyphenylene ether a₁) 70 to 99.95% by weight, in each case based on A, of a polymer component which contains at least 30% by weight, based on a₁, polyphenylene ether and at most 70% by weight, based on a₁, of a vinylaromatic polymer, a₂) 0.05 to 10% by weight, a₂₁) an amide group-containing monomer with a polymerizable double bond, a₂₂) of a monomer containing lactam groups with a polymerizable double bond or a₂₃) an α, β-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid, its monoesters, diesters, amide, diamide, imide or anhydride and a₃) 0 to 20% by weight of a further aliphatic comonomer which can react with a₁ under the production conditions, and B) 10 to 90% by weight of a rubber-modified random copolymer b₁) 85 to 99.9% by weight, based in each case on B, of a vinyl aromatic monomer and b₂) 0.1 to 15% by weight of an α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acid and their manufacture. |
