abstract The invention relates to a method and a device for fitting out a post-filling two-stroke engine. The device is characterized in that it comprises a post-filling system (16) comprising an air inlet duct (22) to the cylinder (14), which intermittently communicates with either the source of purging air. (A), or with a chamber (30) for storing pressurized gases. Advantageously, this chamber (30) is internal to the piston (12) while the air intake duct (22) is formed by at least one bent duct running around the cylinder (14) having a volume sufficient to constitute a reserve of filling air used for post-filling. An improvement in engine operation is obtained.
