An antianxiety drug containing as an active ingredient a piperazine derivative represented by general formula (1) (wherein m represents an integer of 2, 3 or 4, X represents -0-, (a) (wherein 1 = 0 or 1), (b), (c), (d) or (e), Ar represents a pyridyl group, a pyrimidinyl group or a phenyl group optionally substituted by halogen, trifluoromethyl, alkoxy or alkyl, R 1 , R 2 and R 3 may be the same or different and each represents a lower alkoxy group, or R 3 represents a hydrogen atom and R, and R 2 are taken together to form (f) (wherein n = 1, 2 or 3)) or an acid addition salt thereof is disclosed. The compounds have a high ability of binding with a 5-HT 1A receptor, one of 5-hydroxytriptamine(5-HT) receptors, in vivo, thus showing an antianxiety effect. |
