New benzocycloheptene derivatives of general formula: in which : - X is hydrogen, (C₁-C₅) alkyl, cyano or hydroxy, and - X ′ is: hydroxy, an OR radical, (R being acyl or (C₁-C₅) alkyl optionally substituted), a radical [n being zero, one or two, R₁ and R₂ identical or different each being: hydrogen, (C₁-C₅) alkyl optionally substituted, (C₂-C₅) alkenyl or alkynyl, or acyl; where R₁ and R₂ represent together with the nitrogen atom to which they are linked is : R a being hydrogen or, (C₁-C₅) alkyl and R b : hydrogen, (C₁-C₅) alkyl, phenyl, phenylalkyl. . either a penta or hexagonal heterocyclic radical possibly containing another heteroatom]; or - X and X ′ together represent = N-R₃ [R₃ being (C₁-C₅) alkyl optionally substituted] in racemic form and the corresponding enantiomers.n n n These new derivatives and their physiologically tolerable salts can be used in therapy, in particular in the treatment of metabolic diseases, such as diabetes, obesity and their complications. |
