titleOfInvention Routing method for a packet switching network
abstract A first embodiment of a network implementing the method according to the invention is a distributed switching chain subscriber control system comprising a plurality of switches (N0 to N127) each connecting to the chain a terminal or an access interface to the public network (2₁, 2₂). A second embodiment is a local chain network of star-chain comprising a plurality of chain sub-networks (A0 to A15) connected to central switches (CT1, CT2) operating in load sharing. According to the method of the invention, the responsibility for the choice of the packet routing route lies with the connected terminals and interfaces. During a call phase prior to communication, two terminals which have to communicate send call packets broadcast to all the terminals in order to determine two "distances" separating them respectively in the network according to the two directions of communication. These distances are then included in the data packets for the routing of said packets.
