Compounds of formula (1)n and their salts, wherein nR¹ is a methyl, ethyl or isopropyl group each substituted by a hydroxyl group or R¹ is a group -(CH₂ n R7 or a group -CH(CH₃)R⁷ (where n is zero or 1 and R⁷ is CHO or CO₂H); Y¹ is -CH₂-, Y² is -CH- and X representsn [where R² is a hydrogen atom or a group OR⁸ is a hydroxyl group or a substituted hydroxyl group having up to 25 carbon atoms) and R³ is a hydrogen atom, or R² and R³ together with the carbon atom to which they are attached represent >C=O, >C=CH₂ or >C=NOR⁹ (where R⁹ is a hydrogen atom or a C₁₋₈ alkyl or C₃₋₈ alkenyl group) and the group >C=NOR⁹ is in the E configuration] or -Y¹-X-Y²- represents -CH=CH-CH- or -CH₂-CH=C-; nR⁴ is a group OR⁸ as defined above and R⁵ is a hydrogen atom, or R⁴ and R⁵ together with the carbon atom to which they are attached represent >C=O or >C=NOR⁹ª (where R⁹ª is as defined above for R⁹); and nR⁶ is a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl group. nThe compounds may be used to control nematode, acarine, insect or other pests. |
