Novel avermectin and milbemycin compounds, nwherein at least one of the 4a, 5 or 4″ positions are nsubstituted with a fluoro groups, are prepared by nreplacement of hydroxy or other suitable leaving ngroup of avermectin and milbemycin compounds with nfluorine. The fluoroavermectin and fluoromilbemycin ncompounds have utility as anti-parasitic agents and nas highly potent insecticides against agricultural npests. |
