abstract The invention involves prediction functional equations where values of a shape parameter for reflecting the shape of a thermometric curve and a coefficient parameter for superposition with the thermometric curve are undetermined, and generates a temperature data detected and time data obtained by counting the time passed after the start of measurement. The shape parameter value is set on the basis of detected specific temperature data and then the coefficient parameter value is set by solving simultaneous equations consisting of a plurality of prediction functional equations described above and containing the shape parameter value set as described above, using the temperature data at a plurality of time points as object variables and the function of the time data at a plurality of the time points as explanatory variables. A detection temperature at a future time is predicted from the prediction functional equations specified by the values of the set shape parameter and coefficient parameter.
