titleOfInvention 3-substituted-2-oxindole-1-carboxamides as inhibitors of interleukin-1 biosynthesis
abstract This invention relates to the use of certain n3-substituted-2-oxindole-1-carboxamides of the formula n nand the pharmaceutically-acceptable base salts thereof nwherein X is H, Cl or F; Y is H or Cl; and R is benzyl nor thienyl to inhibit interleukin-1 biosynthesis in a nmammal. This invention also relates to the use of such ncompounds for treating interleukin-1 mediated disorders nand dysfunctions such as bone and connective tissue nmetabolism disorders and immune dysfunction in a nmammal. The methods of this invention comprise nadministering an interleukin-1 biosynthesis inhibiting namount of the compounds and salts of this invention to nsuch a mammal.
