titleOfInvention | Silicia gels for controlling insect pests |
abstract | Specific inorganic silica gels are used as an adsorbent ndrying agent for controlling insect pests in a structure. nWhen it is too humid in the structure, the silica gels adsorb nmoisture. On the other hand, when it is too dry in the nstructure, the silica gels supply moisture. The silica gels nthus create the environment where household insect pests ncannot survive. Moreover, by exposing invading insect pests nto silica-gel particles, the pests' tissues are nphysiologically decayed, and the population density of the ninsect pests is decreased. Insect pests in the structure can nbe thus controlled using the silica gels. |
