abstract Use of 4-[(2-oxo-3-bornylidene)methyl]benzenesulphonic acid or its salts for preserving the mechanical properties of the hair from degradation by injurious environmental agents, and especially by light. The compound is used in the proportion of at least 0.3 % by weight of free acid in a cosmetically acceptable aqueous, alcoholic or aqueous-alcoholic vehicle, and in particular in the proportion of 0.4 to 9 % by weight.
