abstract The aim of the invention was to provide molding compositions based on aromatic polyamides which can be processed thermoplastically at temperatures below 350 ° C. without decomposition. It has been found that polyamides which are obtained by polycondensation of aromatic diamines of the formula H2N - Ar - X - Ar '- Y - Ar' - X - Ar - NH2 with X, Y = -SO2- or -CO- with isophthalic acid or an acid mixture containing isophthalic acid and phthalic anhydride are available, should be an essential part of such molding compositions. Use of the molding compositions for the production of moldings which are used, for example, in the automotive sector.
