titleOfInvention Resin composite material containing graphite fiber
abstract Provided herein is a resin composite material ncontaining graphite fiber which has good electrical nconductivity and changes only a little in electrical nresistance after processing. These desired properties are nachieved by incorporating a synthetic resin matrix with a nspecific type of graphite fiber. The graphite fiber has a nstructure characterized by that the hexagonal network nplanes of carbon atoms are oriented substantially parallel nto the fiber axis and like the annual ring. It is nproduced by bringing a hydrocarbon compound into contact, nat a high temperature, with a metallic catalyst in the nform of ultrafine particles to yield carbon fiber grown in nthe gas phase, and subsequently graphitizing thus obtained ncarbon fiber.
