abstract The present invention relates to new pyrimidine derivatives of the formula I. in which R¹ represents hydrogen, alkyl, acyl, R² represents hydrogen, alkyl, R¹ and R² together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached can form a saturated or unsaturated 5-ring or 6-ring, which may also contain further heteroatoms, R³ represents hydrogen, alkyl, acyl, R⁴ represents hydrogen, alkyl, haloalkyl, R⁵ represents alkyl, haloalkyl, R⁶ represents alkyl or cycloalkyl, which are optionally substituted by halogen, cycloalkyl, hydroxy, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, aryl, which in turn can be substituted by alkyl, halogen, hydroxy, alkoxy, alkylenedioxy, CN or the radicals -COR⁷, -O- Alkylene-COR⁷, alkylene-R⁸ or O-alkylene-R⁸, R⁷ represents hydroxy, alkoxy or -NR⁹R¹⁰, R⁸ represents hydroxy, alkoxy or -NR⁹R¹⁰, R⁹ represents hydrogen, alkyl, R¹⁰ represents hydrogen, alkyl, and their tautomeric forms in the event that at least one of the radicals R¹ or R² is hydrogen, and physiologically acceptable salts and their preparation.n n n The compounds of formula I are used as performance promoters for animals.
