| abstract | The invention relates to techniques for cooling glass sheets after they have been heated, in particular for bending them. To obtain a compressive stress at the periphery of the glass sheet, the blowing air is oriented by guiding it by a deflector (16) in the form of a pyramid trunk. By varying the distance to the glass, the surface concerned is adjusted and by varying the distance of a skirt (13) of identical pyramidal shape which surrounds the deflector (16), the speed of the air is adjusted. Flaps (19) assembled in the trunk of a pyramid identical to the previous pyramids distribute the pressures on the blowing surface. |
