abstract |
Process for the preparation of a new graft copolymer in emulsion polymerization. A graft base used is an exclusively by anionic emulsifier (CMC ≧ 0.5% by weight in H₂O) stabilized vinyl ester ethylene latex containing sulfonate groups, which is preferably grafted with vinyl chloride without the addition of an emulsifier or protective colloid. The graft copolymers according to the invention are notable for good water resistance and very good thermoplastic processability. They are particularly suitable for use as impact modifiers and for producing soft to semi-hard moldings. |
