abstract The object of the invention was to produce chemical composites between polyphenylene ethers on the one hand and rubbers on the other hand, which combine sufficient adhesive properties with good resistance to solvents and weathering.n n n The process according to the invention is based on a rubber composition which contains a mixture of 20-100% EP (D) M rubber and 80-0% E-SBR, additives, peroxidic vulcanizing agents, vulcanization activators and optionally extenders. The composite is produced by co-vulcanizing a PPE-containing thermoplastic molding composition with the rubber composition.n n n The composite bodies obtainable by this process can be used, for example, for the production of brake and clutch discs, profiles, conveyor belts and vehicle tires.
