abstract To calibrate a measuring device which determines at least the pH and the pCO₂ value in aqueous media, it is proposed that two storage-stable, aqueous starting solutions A and B are mixed in a defined ratio immediately before the calibration and only after the chemical reaction of the starting solution A and B the desired pH and pCO₂ values for the calibration of the corresponding measuring electrodes of the measuring device are made available.
