abstract | A novel process for the production of an L-phenylÂalanine lower alkyl ester in a good yield and at a high production rate is provided which comprises permitting a microorganism which belongs to the genus Nocardia and is capable of producing an L-phenylalanine lower alkyl ester from the corresponding lower alkyl ester of phenylpyruvic acid and an amino group donor to act on a lower alkyl ester of phenylpyruvic acid and an amino group donor in the presence of hydrogen, water and an organic solvent. |
