abstract An antistat for coating the surfaces of synthetic macromolecular materials contains phosphonium sulfonate shown by the general formula (I) below:n wherein A is an alkyl group with 1 to 36 carbon atoms, an alkenyl group with 4 to 24 carbon atoms, a phenyl group, a phenyl group substituted by at least one alkyl group with 1 to 28 carbon atoms, a naphthyl group, or a naphthyl group substituted by at least one alkyl group with 1 to 18 carbon atoms, and R₁ to R₄ are identical or different, each being a hydrocarbon, or a substituted hydrocarbon group, with from 1 to 18 carbon atoms.
