titleOfInvention | PRODUCT SUITABLE FOR CONTACT WITH BLOOD, PROCESS FOR ITS PREPARATION AND ITS APPLICATIONS. |
abstract | Product suitable for applications in which there is contact with blood, especially for medical applications. This product has a substrate coated with heparin or heparin-based material. The novelty of the invention resides in the fact that the heparin or heparin-based material is attached to the substrate by means of a pre-adsorbed layer of lysozyme or a derivative thereof. Exceptional adhesion and outstanding efficacy of bound heparin are achieved when metals or polymeric materials are used as substrates. Said product is preferably prepared by carrying out the pre-adsorption of lysozyme or one of its derivatives from an aqueous solution and by exposure to an aqueous solution of heparin or of a heparin-based compound without passing through an intermediate stage of drying. The described product concerned is suitable for medical applications. |
