An improved method for anesthetizing aquatic animals comprises anesthetizing the animals in water with nitrous oxide and carbon dioxide. The nitrous oxide allows the fish to be anaesthetised without passing through a highly active and possibly damaging phase, before succumbing to the carbon dioxide anaesthesia. |
