Largely uncrosslinked graft polymers A) a base polymer composed of 40 to 100% by weight of polyphenylene ether and 0 to 60% by weight of a vinyl aromatic polymer, B) a monomer containing a C = C double bond which is substituted on the double bond C atoms by only one CO group, and C) optionally further olefinically unsaturated monomers, where B additionally two CO groups of the structure linked via a C = C double bond contains, their manufacture and use.
