The isolation and purification of cytochalasins from mold cultures, nspecifically purification of cytochalasins A and B from Drechslera n dematioidea and of cytochalasin D from mold cultures of Zygosporium n masonii is described. Cytochalasins may be used in in vivo chemotherapy nof invasive and metastatic disease, and in combination chemotherapy nagainst neoplasms. Vehicles such as liposomes, which afford sustained nrelease of the cytochalasin, may be used in the administration of such ncompounds. |
