abstract | Sustained release granules of ibuprofen comprising na homogeneous mixture of ibuprofen and a npharmaceutically acceptable polymeric material, noperable to provide a slow release of ibuprofen over a npH range from 1.0 to 7.0, the polymeric material being npresent in an amount of 5% to 25% by weight, based on nthe weight of the ibuprofen. The granules are prepared nby dissolving the ibuprofen and polymeric material in a nsolvent and evaporating the solvent. Suitable npolymeric materials include ethyl cellulose, high nviscosity hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose and ncopolymers of dimethyl aminoethyl methylacrylate and nmethacrylic acid ester. The granules may be compressed nto form sustained release tablets. |
