This invention provides novel insecticidally and nacaricidally active pyrimidine derivatives of formula (I): n nand stereoisomers thereof, wherein n R¹ is selected from alkyl; alkenyl; alkynyl; nhaloalkyl; haloalkenyl; and cycloalkyl optionally nsubstituted by alkyl or halogen; n R² is selected from alkyl; haloalkyl; alkoxy; nalkylamino; dialkylamino; halogen; cycloalkyl optionally nsubstituted by halogen or alkyl; and phenyl optionally nsubstituted by alkyl, haloalkyl, halogen or alkoxy; n R³ is selected from hydrogen and halogen; n R⁴ is the residue of an alcohol of formula R⁴-OH nwhich forms an insecticidal ester when combined with nchrysanthemic acid, permethrin acid or cyhalothrin acid; nand n n n X is selected from oxygen and sulphur; nprovided that R² may not represent an alpha-branched alkyl ngroup or a cycloalkyl group when R¹ represents 1-nmethylethyl. |
