A halogen-containing polyether which comprises a repeating unit structure of the formula: -(CH 2 CF 2 CF 2 O) a -(CHCICF 2 CF 2 O) b -(CCi 12 CF 2 CF 2 O) c -CHFCF 2 CF 2 O) d -(CFCICF 2 CF 2 O) e -(CF 2 CF 2 CF 2 O) f --(I) wherein a, b, c, d, e and f are each 0 or a positive integer and satisfy the following equations: 2≤a+b+c+d+e+f≤200and 1≤a+c+d+f f and at least one terminal group selected from the group consisting of groups represented by the formulas: -CH 2 0H, -COOR 1 , -CONR 1 2 . .COOOR 2 Ph and -R z Ph wherein R 1 is a hydrogen atom, a C 1 -C 5 alkyl group or an aromatic group, R 2 is a divalent organic group and Ph is an aromatic group, which has good lubricating properties. |
