On the catheter, an endoprosthesis (20), which can be inserted into a vessel in the correct position and is implantable by radial expansion with subsequent fixation in the expansion position, is accommodated on the catheter. The endoprosthesis can enclose a section (15) of the catheter under prestress and can thereby be held essentially axially fixed on it, the separation from the catheter being effected by the radial expansion during the implantation. However, the endoprosthesis can also be held essentially axially fixed on the catheter by mechanical means, the effectiveness of which does not apply after the implantation due to radial expansion or which can be removed after the implantation, so that the catheter can be withdrawn. |
