The invention relates to a method for producing refractory or fire-resistant molded parts containing mineral fibers, the mineral fibers being embedded in a carbon-containing matrix, and to carbon-molded parts made using this method and containing mineral fibers. According to this process, finely divided pitch, tar or resol or novolak resins are flocked from the aqueous slurry onto mineral fibers present in the aqueous slurry, then the molded part is produced from the slurry, then the green molded part is dried and pyrolyzed at temperatures from 350 ° C. to 1300 ° C. . The molded parts produced by this process have the advantage that their bulk density can be set within wide limits, and in particular very low bulk densities can be achieved. |
